APPAREL DESIGN PROJECT 1

To produce and design a statement 2-piece streetwear look that is made from upcycled / used garment, charaterised by visually compelling prints or graphics inspired by either ocean & waste pollution, air pollution or deforestation.

Personally chose air pollution where such toxins are released from the cars we use. Hence, I provided a solution where more electric cars could be used instead. Thus, after much research done, I was inspired by the transmission of an electric car (gearbox), hence I drew the structure on Procreate Ipad before printing out using Cricut - a device that prints out our designs on vinyls before ironing on onto our garments.

All parts of the whole look have been made from used clothings, both from home or provided such as my father's working pants that have holes and was going to be discarded and the under armour sweater that was provided.

Hand-stitched silver beads to create a 3D texture at the front with a metal zip going down the back.

If I had time, I would improve on the finishing especially around the neck and stitched more beads to accentuate the effect at the front.
